Active Travel Route - Corwen.

Denbighshire Council planned to carry out works to upgrade an existing footpath at Corwen to create an Active Travel Route (ATR). Switch Ecology were commissioned to carry out surveys and obtain licences to cover the proposed works.

An initial walkthrough survey of the site was carried out to establish the ecological constraints associated with the proposals. The survey identified several ecological receptors along the route, including Potential Roost Features (PRF) for bats in trees and badger setts in the surrounding area.

Aerial bat surveys were carried out on trees planned for felling or pruning during the works and Switch Ecology obtained a disturbance licence to allow works to be carried out in close proximity to badger setts along the route.
